DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING (Ph.D. EEE)

The Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering program (Ph.D. EEE) requires 24 units of coursework and 12 units of dissertation. Students who are B.S. degree holders may pursue a straight-to-Ph.D. degree by satisfying 45 units of coursework and 12 units of dissertation. Under this degree, students would be required to make an original contribution to the fundamental knowledge in the field through dissertation, which is expected to take about a year for full-time students and about two years for part-time students. Full-time students are expected to complete the requirements in two years and part-time students in three years.

 

DOCTOR OF ENGINEERING IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING (D.Eng. EEE)

The Doctor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering program (D.Eng. EEE) requires 24 units of coursework and 12 units of dissertation. Students who are B.S. degree holders may also pursue a straight-to-Ph.D. degree by satisfying 45 units of coursework and 12 units of dissertation. Under this degree, students would address an engineering problem of substance and develops a solution in a creative and distinguished manner through dissertation. The dissertation is expected to take about a year for full-time students and about two years for part-time students. Full-time students are expected to complete the requirements in two years and part-time students in three years.
